Marine zinc anode is a kind of equipment specially used for corrosion prevention of ships. They are usually made of pure zinc or zinc-containing alloys and are mounted on the bottom of the hull or other parts vulnerable to corrosion. The Marine zinc anode forms a protective electrochemical reaction when in contact with the hull through the electrochemical principle, thus delaying or preventing the corrosion of the hull. Such anodes are often referred to as sacrifice anodes because they wear out gradually in the process of protecting the hull and need to be replaced periodically to ensure that the hull is continuously protected.
