Zinc Pencil Anode

Zinc Pencil Anode

Zinc pencil anode consists of a high-purity zinc rod or “pencil” encased in a metal or plastic holder. The zinc core acts as the sacrificial metal, while the holder provides structural support and electrical connection points.

Overview

Applications of Zinc Pencil Anodes

1. Marine Engines and Cooling Systems

Heat Exchangers: Installed in heat exchangers to protect against galvanic corrosion due to dissimilar metals in the cooling water.

Water-Cooled Engines: Used in the cooling systems of marine engines to prevent corrosion of engine blocks and cooling passages.

2. Industrial Tanks and Pipelines

Storage Tanks: Protect internal surfaces of water storage tanks, especially those used for potable water, by preventing corrosion.

Pipelines: Installed in pipelines to protect internal surfaces from corrosion caused by water or other corrosive fluids.

3. HVAC Systems

Chiller Units: Protects chillers and other components in HVAC systems that use water for cooling.
