Marine Zinc Alloy Sacrificial Anode
Marine zinc alloy sacrificial anodes protect metal components of hull and other underwater structures from corrosion by sacrificing themselves. It is mainly used for hull outer plate, rudder and propeller, ballast tank and other submarine equipment.
Overview
Characteristics
Material composition: usually contains more than 99% zinc with small amounts of aluminium and cadmium to improve its electrochemical properties.
Potential stability: has a stable negative potential in seawater (about -1.05 V relative to Ag/AgCl electrode).
Efficient Protection: Provides long-term effective protection in the marine environment for a wide range of seawater conditions.
Environmental adaptability: suitable for different temperature and salinity environments.
Application
Zinc alloy sacrificial anode is mainly applied to the following ship structures:
Hull outer plate: used to protect the steel structure of outer plate from seawater corrosion.
Rudders and propellers: anodes are installed in these parts to prevent performance loss caused by corrosion.
Ballast water tanks: to prevent corrosion of metal structures inside the tanks.
Subsea equipment: e.g. anchors, sonar equipment, etc.
