Which is better when choosing search light, manual regulation or electrical regulation

Operation of marine search light includes two main control methods, manual regulation and electrical regulation.

Overview

Manual regulation

There is lifting rod or joystick used by sailors in the cabin to control the search light on the deck. Most operators tend to manual control because they can directly and intuitively regulate search light and get real-time feedback. The precondition of manual regulation is that, the search light must be installed on the deck where the sailor in the cabin can get to the top ceiling of the cabin.

Electrical regulation

Sailors in cabin can operate a controller(with button or joystick) embedded on the bridge to remote regulate the horizontal and vertical angle of search light. Electrical control can be automatic, which means the search light can automatically regulate its angle according to the head of ship and environment( with cruise function). One advantage of electrical regulation is that the installation position of search light can be flexible; and the other is that it offers  operators convenient control.

When choosing manual or electrical control search light, the power failure should be in consideration.
