What Is The Production Process of Steel Wire Rope?
Steel wire rope consists of a group of strands laid helically around a core. In some cases, a single strand is a rope. It is widely used for tasks such as lifting, supporting structures, towing, and securing objects.
Overview
HI-SEA’s steel wire rope production process
HI-SEA’s wire rope has 5 key processes, which provide clients with high quality wire rope.
Raw material quality control
HI-SEA’s factory select high-quality wire rod from the best steel mill in China. The grade 1960 wire rope is made of 82A steel. Steel wire ropes above grade 1960 usually are made of 82LX steel from Baosteel. Raw materials can only be used after vulcanization analysis.
Diameter control
HI-SEA’s factory is equipped with a series of advanced imported equipment such as pre-deformation device, diameter control device, sizing device, etc., which can control the tolerance as percentage of nominal rope diameter within 0 ~ +2%. This promote the steel wire rope can better match the drum, rope groove, pulley, etc., so as to increase the service life of steel wire rope.
Plastics coating process
HI-SEA’s factory adopts the new spiral plastic coating to better reduce the wear between the wire rope strand and strand.
Stress control when closing
Automated equipment monitors the stress control between each strand during closing wire rope.
Pre-stretching treatment
The pre-tensioning treatment can eliminate the structural elongation of the wire rope and increase the service life of the wire rope.
