What Is A Centrifugal Pump?

Centrifugal pump is a kind of equipment that relies on the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the impeller to transport liquid, through the conversion of mechanical energy into fluid energy, to achieve the purpose of liquid transmission, centrifugal pump is suitable for the transmission of water, oil and other liquid media.

Overview

Working principle

Centrifugal pump works on the basis of Newton's second law, which states that force equals mass times acceleration. When the impeller rotates, the liquid is sucked into the center of the impeller, and with the rotation of the impeller, the liquid is thrown to the outer edge of the impeller by centrifugal force, and then discharged through the flow channel of the pump shell, thus completing the delivery of the liquid.

structure

The centrifugal pump is composed of impeller, pump body, pump shaft, bearing, sealing ring and packing box.

classification

Pump shaft position: vertical and Horizontal

The number of impeller is divided into single stage and multistage

Inhalation methods: single inhalation and double inhalation

Application

Fuel pump, sea pump, fresh water pump, cooling pump, bilge pump, ballast pump, fire pump, sewage pump

material

Common cast iron, cast steel,Bronze, stainless steel and other materials

         1. Stainless Steel: strong corrosion resistance, long service life, but the price is relatively high, generally used for special requirements.

2.Cast Iron (Cast Iron) : the price is cheaper, often used in some general applications. But cast iron is not as resistant to corrosion as stainless steel.

   3. Bronze: Good corrosion resistance, good wear resistance, is a common choice of Marine pump shell material.
