Choosing the right installation method is as crucial as selecting the carpet itself. It affects the longevity, appearance, safety, and even the acoustic performance of the flooring. Below, we detail the three primary marine carpet installation methods, their pros, cons, and ideal applications.

Preparation before installation

The deck substrate must be clean, dry, flat, and free of oil stains.

The carpet needs to be unfolded and left to stand for at least 24 hours at the ambient temperature to acclimate to the temperature and humidity.

Accurately measure and plan the laying direction, considering pattern alignment and pile direction.

Carpet in the laying, commonly used ground installation method of card hook fixing method, pressure strip fixing, paste method of three ways, as follows:

Snap hook fixing method: Use steel nails to set wooden strips with snap hooks on the floor of the room, and then hang the carpet tightly on the way of snap hooks.

Pressure strip fixing method: Place a certain specification of wooden pressure strip around the carpet, and use special steel nails to fix the pressure strip and carpet on the deck.

Adhesive method: the way of pasting adhesive on the deck and then laying the carpet. Carpet adhesive can be divided into water-based adhesive, solvent-based adhesive and other adhesives
