In ship design and construction, the scupper is usually located on the bottom or floor of the ship, near the low point of the ship.The purpose of this design is to allow the water to naturally concentrate to the position of the drain, so that it can be discharged through the drain.
The drain is usually composed of valves and pipes. The valve's role is to control the flow of water, while the pipe directs the water to the outside environment.
