Marine round socket is also called as breech socket. The round socket gets welded on the deck of the vessel. They are used in combination with the breech base bottom twist lock to lock the corner castings of the container. The twist lock gets locked into the socket/fitting with a turning movement. It also accepts the breech base D-ring to secure the cargo.
