Marine Deck Scupper
Overview
The importance of Marine scuppers
A big reason why ships discharge water is to maintain balance. Before sailing, the ship will store a large amount of water in the bottom water storage tank to increase the weight of the hull and ensure smooth sailing. This is essential for maintaining the ship's stability in harsh sea conditions. At sea, the weather conditions are changeable, the wind and waves are rough, and in order to avoid the hull being overturned, the center of gravity of the ship needs to be adjusted in time.
When the ship encounters strong winds and waves and needs to increase the weight of the hull to maintain balance, seawater will be injected into the high or low seawater tank to increase the weight of the ship, thereby improving the buoyancy and ensuring the stability of the ship. On the contrary, when it is necessary to rapidly increase the speed of the ship, part of the ballast water can be discharged to reduce the weight of the hull and increase the speed.
