Introduction To The Explosion-Proof Class Of Marine Fans

Explosion-proof class is the most basic classification standard for explosion-proof fans, usually expressed as "Ex". The class is mainly based on the nature of the explosive gas or dust that the equipment may come into contact with the division, such as Class I, Class II, Class III and so on. In the choice of explosion-proof fan, the first thing to be clear about the environment in which the equipment is explosive gas or dust category, to ensure that the selected equipment meets the safety requirements.

Overview

Temperature group (T group):

The temperature group is another important indicator of the level of explosion-proof fans, used to describe the maximum surface temperature that may be generated by the equipment in the course of normal operation. According to the equipment may come into contact with the ignition temperature of explosive gases or dust, the temperature group is divided into six levels from T1 to T6. When selecting an explosion-proof fan, it is important to ensure that the temperature group of the equipment is lower than the lowest ignition temperature of the explosive gas or dust in the environment to ensure safety.

Protection class (IP):

The protection class is mainly used to describe the ability of the explosion-proof fan casing to protect against solid and liquid foreign objects. Generally speaking, the higher the protection level, the better the protective performance of the equipment. In the selection of explosion-proof fan, according to the characteristics of the environment in which the equipment, select the appropriate level of protection to ensure that the equipment can operate normally in harsh environments.

A complete Ex marking will include information on the type of explosion protection, the operating environment (G gas or D dust), the explosion hazardous area and the temperature group. For example, "Ex d IIC T4" indicates that it is an explosion-proof device, suitable for use in a gas environment of class IIC, where the maximum surface temperature does not exceed the T4 group standard (135°C). When selecting an explosion-proof fan, the appropriate explosion-proof level should be chosen according to the specific use environment and requirements to ensure safe and efficient operation.
