A sleeve is one of the three parts of a sleeve type pipe joint (sleeve, nut, seamless steel pipe). The working principle is to insert the seamless steel pipe into the sleeve, and use the sleeve nut to lock and resist the sleeve. The inner blade of the sleeve evenly cuts into the seamless steel pipe, forming an effective seal.

Overview

Sealing principle:

The main function of the sleeve is to move axially along the tapered hole in the joint body through the axial action of the nut, and at the same time, the blade end undergoes radial contraction under the radial action of the reaction force, eliminating the gap with the pipe and allowing the blade to contact the surface of the pipe. Continue to rotate the nut to firmly insert the blade of the card sleeve into the pipe, ensuring sealing. ‌

Installation precautions:

1)When installing the card sleeve joint, both the inside and outside of the connecting pipe interface connected to the card sleeve joint must be cleaned. The connecting pipe interface must be polished flat, and the surface must not have burrs or concave convex surfaces.

2)Moreover, there should be no bending at the embedded part of the takeover and sleeve joint, otherwise it may cause leakage at the connection between the sleeve joint and the steel pipe. It is best to use pipes of uniform material at both ends of the connected sleeve joint to effectively prevent leakage.

3)After the steel pipe is embedded in the sleeve joint body, the tightening force of the sleeve should not be too strong. The sleeve should be gradually tightened to the end or 2/3 of the thread, and then tightened with a wrench.
