Classification of Marine valves
There are many kinds of valves. With the continuous improvement of all kinds of complete sets of equipment and process, the types of valves are still increasing, but in general, they can be divided into two categories: automatic valves and drive valves.
Overview
Automatic valve:
It refers to the ability of the medium (liquid, air, steam, etc.) to act on its own. Such as: relief valve, pressure reducing valve, check valve, steam trap, air trap, emergency cut-off valve, regulating valve, temperature control valve, etc.
Drive valve:
Refers to the use of manual, cable, hydraulic or pneumatic force to operate the opening and closing of the valve, such as gate valve, globe valve, throttle valve, regulating valve, butterfly valve, ball valve, plug valve, etc.
The valve depends on the automatic or driving mechanism to make the opening and closing parts lift, slip, swing or rotary movement, so as to change the size of the flow area, in order to achieve the opening and closing control function.
In addition, valves can be divided according to structural characteristics (cut-off, spherical, butterfly, etc.), use (cut-off, adjustment, check, etc.), operation mode (manual, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic), connection mode (flange, thread, welding, clamping, etc.) and other ways.
