ANSI Marine Valve

ANSI Marine Valve

The ANSI valve size standards usually follow the standards set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). These standards cover valve size, pressure rating, materials, design and testing requirements, etc.

ANSI marine valves are mainly ASME standards; valves designed, manufactured, produced and tested according to American standards are called American standard valves.

Overview

Main Standards of ANSI Marine Valves

The standards followed by American Standard valves include but are not limited to:

Structural length standard (flange distance or F to F distance): ASME B16.10.

Material standard: ASTM.

Flange size, tolerance, marking standard: ANSI/ASME B16.5.

Pressure-temperature ratings for valves, valve bodies and accessories: ANSI/ASME B16.34.

Pressure Rating of ANSI Marine Valves

Usually expressed as "Class", such as Class 150, Class 300, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500, Class 2500, etc. Each Class corresponds to a different maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) and is suitable for different working conditions.

Thread Connection: NPT
