What is a anchor capstan?
Anchor capstan can be divided into electric and hydraulic capstan based on their power sources. Its biggest advantage is that the sprocket, capstan head, and brake device directly used for anchoring and mooring operations is installed on the deck, while the other driving machinery and transmission mechanisms are installed below the deck. So the area occupied on the deck is small, especially suitable for ships and some ships with difficult deck arrangements.
