Marine capstan
A marine capstan is a type of rotating machine used on ships and boats for various tasks, particularly for handling ropes, cables, and steel wire ropes. It mainly consists of a capstan head, gearbox, and motor. Marine capstans are typically powered by an electric motor or hydraulic system. We can design and manufacture a custom capstan windlass to your needs.
Overview
Marine capstans are typically powered by an electric motor or hydraulic system. The speed of the electric capstan can be single-speed, double speed and three-speed. The hydraulic capstan can achieve step-less speed control by hand proportional valve. The marine capstan is a small winch that is used on deck or shore to moor and anchor. They are commonly found on the deck of ships and are used for tasks such as mooring, anchoring, lifting, etc.

Marine Capstan Classification | |||
Marine capstans are usually used with cables/mooring ropes for mooring. If the marine capstan is equipped with an anchor chain wheel/gypsy/sprocket, it can be used with the anchor chain for lifting anchors.
