Operating precautions for marine cranes

Special attention should be paid to safety and operating procedures when operating marine cranes to ensure smooth operation and protect the safety of personnel and equipment

Overview

Taking a slewing crane as an example:

1. Enter into use

1) Open the watertight door for use. When the weather is hot, start the axial flow fan.

2) Check if the wire rope arrangement on the drum is normal.

3) Raise the boom to an elevation angle greater than 27 degrees.

4) Check the brake condition and the reliability of safety devices.

2. Key points of operation

1) It is prohibited to pull goods horizontally.

2) Maintain stable operation, avoid rapid starting and stopping, minimize crane vibration, and extend the service life of the crane

3) Pay attention to the position of the hook, do not loosen the steel wire rope after the hook lands on the ground, and do not drag the hook on the ground.

4) When the transmission fails, the goods can be placed on the ground and the lifting arm can be lowered, and the brake of the motor can be carefully and slowly released.

5) Remember to avoid friction of the lifting steel wire rope at the hatch, and strengthen inspection in daily life.

6) In case of an emergency, press the emergency switch to stop all actions.

7) When the ship has a large lateral angle (close to 5 °) and strong winds, it should be avoided to rotate at maximum amplitude.

8) When lifting goods, the operator cannot leave.

3. Placement

First, rotate the lifting arm above the bracket, then place the rotary handle in neutral, and then press the foot switch to lower the lifting arm onto the bracket, and then return the rotary handle to the zero position. At this point, the amplitude-changing steel wire rope is slightly tightened, and it should not be too tight or too loose to prevent the steel wire rope from loosening or winding randomly on the drum. Then, close all doors and windows.

In short, the operation of marine cranes requires a high level of vigilance and professional skills. Operators must strictly abide by safety regulations and operating norms to ensure the safety and reliability of lifting operations.
