What is the difference between carbon steel ball valves and cast steel ball valves?
Overview
Differences in application:
Carbon steel ball valves are suitable for some conventional temperature, pressure and media under the occasion, such as water, oil refining, chemical industry.
Cast steel ball valves are suitable for higher temperatures, higher pressure and acid, alkali and other corrosive media under the occasion.
Differences in manufacturing process:
Carbon steel ball valves are mainly used in forging, welding and combination to complete their production.
Cast steel ball valves are usually manufactured through multiple processes, including sand molding, molten casting, cleaning, annealing, machining and so on.
Therefore, the manufacturing cost of cast steel ball valve is a little higher than carbon steel ball valve.
Differences in structural features:
Carbon steel ball valves are generally full bore structure, suitable for good circulation of the medium.
Cast steel ball valves can be used to reduce the diameter of the structure, by reducing the valve diameter to reduce the media flow, to achieve the purpose of flow control and regulation.
