Test of Marine Capstan

Test of Marine Capstan

The experiment of marine capstan should be carried out in the CB/T 4555-1995 Ship’s deck machinery—Capstan. If there are any class certificate requirements, it should comply with the rules or standards of the corresponding classification society. The test items include the no-load test, workload test, control brake device test, etc.

Overview

The experiment of marine capstan should be carried out in the CB/T 4555-1995 Ship’s deck machinery—Capstan. If there are any class certificate requirements, it should comply with the rules or standards of the corresponding classification society. The test items include the no-load test, workload test, control brake device test, etc.

1. No-load test.

The capstan operates 30 minutes continuously at nominal speed and 15 minutes in both positive and negative directions. After the electric capstan runs for 30 minutes, change gears as soon as possible, every turn to run 5min.

Before or after the operation of the hydraulic capstan 30min, the lowest stable speed and the highest speed should be used to rotate 2min in the forward and reverse directions.

2. Working load test.

Under the action of working load, 30 minutes runs at nominal speed.

3. Control brake device test.

According to the capstan control brake device should be able to withstand 1.5 times the mooring load to carry out the control brake device test, for the electric capstan when the control handle (handwheel) is in the stop or brake position.

It should be able to brake automatically when the power is set or when the power is cut off; for a hydraulically driven capstan, the brake allows a fixed amount of slip, but slip per minute should not exceed 1 m.

4. Measure and check items.

When measuring the current and voltage under no load and mooring load, the current under mooring load should not exceed the rating of the motor current.

The nominal speed measured under the mooring load shall be under the provisions of Table 1.

The measurement of no-load speed (rope speed) shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.

Measure the oil pressure of the main oil pump under no load and system load.

Measure and check the oil temperature of the hydraulic system, reducer, etc.

Check the hydraulic system for oil leakage.

Check whether the winch runs smoothly and whether there is any abnormal noise.

Check the safety and reliability of the control brake device, and check the slip of the hydraulically driven capstan.
