Marine Mooring Winch For Oil Tanker
Marine oil tanker winch is a main deck machinery applied on oil tankers, for mooring, docking, towing, handling heavy loads, and other related tasks. It is normally driven electrically or hydraulically, while the hydraulic motor is more received because of its excellent ability to move heavy loads. It is made of high-strength materials like stainless steel or some corrosion-resistant alloys to ensure its service life.
Overview
The oil tanker is divided into double hull tankers and single hull tankers according to the hull structure, and is usually used as special working vessels for the transportation of crude oil or petroleum products. According to requirements of the International Maritime Organization, oil tankers are required to be equipped with emergency towing device, which is used to keep the ship out of dangerous zone in emergency situations. Because of the particularity of oil tankers’ work, marine oil tanker winch must be explosion-proof, especially the electric or hydraulic motor parts of winch. In principle, the marine oil tanker should not be equipped with more than 2 mooring drums to ensure the simplicity of the winch arrangement and the mooring efficiency.
