Marine Diesel Double Drum Mooring Winch

A marine diesel double drum mooring winch is used for mooring, and it can improve a ship's maneuverability by facilitating precise positioning, regulating tension and controlling motion during docking, berthing and navigation. It is driven by diesel engine. The diesel generator set is started by electric or air. It includes basic type and automatic type.

Overview

In mooring operations, marine diesel double drum mooring winch can provide mechanical assistance when a ship's mooring line is deployed. It can also fasten the mooring cable when ship’s moored, adjust the length of cables to adapt mooring pattern in different ports and to compensate for changes in draft and tides. Besides, the mooring winch can be designed to keep the position of ships free from environmental or inertial forces, store mooring line when it’s available, as well as to protect mooring cables, winches, devices and structures from overload and damage by means of causing the main brake to slip when the drum is heavily loaded.
