JIS Stock Anchor
Overview
Description of JIS Stock Anchor:
The shape of the JIS Stock Anchor is very similar to Admiralty Anchor, with two holes on the anchor shank. The top hole is used to connect the anchor shackle, and the hole below the anchor shackle is for the crossbar to pass through. Before anchoring, it is necessary to move the crossbar perpendicular to the anchor shank. The vertical crossbar has a stabilizing effect on the anchor and will not flip due to inconsistent bottom grasping like a stockless anchor. The anchor and anchor shank of JIS Stock Anchor are integrated, after anchoring, one side of the anchor fluke is exposed outside the seabed, which may entangle the anchor chain and easily damage the bottom of the ship in shallow water. The crossbar perpendicular to the anchor shank also makes anchoring operations very inconvenient. Therefore, JIS Stock Anchor can be used for small ships and sailboats, or for long-term anchoring, and is not recommended as the bow anchor for large ships.
