IMPA 872326 Air Vent Head
Overview
Common defects in air line closers
1. Corroded by seawater, lack of daily maintenance, air pipe and pipe closure device rust through, cracking, stuck and other conditions, can not meet the weathertight requirements after closure.
2. The air pipe does not meet the height requirements at least 760mm on the freeboard deck from the deck to the point at which water may enter below the pipe mouth, and at least 450mm on the superstructure deck.
3. The manually closed air pipe closing device is not equipped with watertight rubber strips and fastening bolts.
4. A large number of oil blocks condenses on the head of the air pipe of the heavy oil fuel tank, and sometimes it is even found that a large amount of residual oil accumulates inside the pipe head, blocking the oil and gas discharge, resulting in increased pressure in the oil tank and failure of the closing device.
5. The air pipes separating the empty compartments of the fuel tank, oil tank and liquid cargo ship are terminated in the closed space such as the engine room, and are not led to the open place above the freeboard deck, and the pipe heads are not equipped with corrosion-resistant and easily replaced metal fire frame screen.
