Overview

Fire hose valves are critical control points in any fire protection infrastructure. Their robust design ensures reliable operation under high pressure during emergencies, enabling precise water flow management from the supply source to the firefighting hose and nozzle.A ‌Fire Hose Valve‌ is a critical control device installed between a pressurized water source (hydrant, pump, manifold) and a fire hose. Its primary function is to ‌start, stop, and regulate water flow‌ to the hose line, allowing firefighters and safety personnel to manage water delivery efficiently and safely during firefighting operations or system testing. These valves are engineered for ‌instant operation, high pressure endurance, and reliable sealing‌ in emergency conditions.”

Main Features

Fire hose valve is a valve used to control the flow of fire hose. It is usually located at the connection of the fire hose with a water source such as a fire hydrant or fire truck.

The valve can be opened or closed to regulate the flow of water, allowing firefighters to control the pressure and direction of the water sprayed toward the fire. Fire hose valves are an essential part of fire fighting equipment and are designed to withstand high water pressure and extreme temperatures.

Body Material

The material determines the valve's durability, corrosion resistance, and suitable operating environment.

‌Bronze/Brass‌: Offers excellent resistance to seawater and freshwater corrosion, with good machinability. It is the most economical choice commonly used in marine and general industrial environments.

‌Stainless Steel (e.g., 304, 316)‌: Provides outstanding resistance to chemical corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Suitable for demanding environments or high-cleanliness applications such as chemical plants, offshore platforms, and food processing.

Key Technical Parameters

Nominal Diameter: Common sizes include 1.5 inches, 2.5 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches, and 6 inches, requiring matching with fire hose and water supply pipe diameters.

Pressure Rating: Common working pressure ratings include 150 PSI (10.3 bar), 200 PSI (13.8 bar), 300 PSI (20.7 bar), or higher. The selected valve pressure rating must exceed the maximum working pressure of the fire protection system.

Temperature Range: Typically designed for normal operation within a medium temperature range of -20°C to 120°C.
