The electric single gypsy anchor windlass is widely used on ships to handle anchoring. The electric motor can be classified into the variable frequency motor and the fixed frequency motor. The fixed frequency motor can achieve single-speed, double-speed, and three-speed.

The working principle of an electric anchor windlass is as follows: when it is necessary to lift anchor, the electric motor is started, and the driving force of the motor is reduced and twisted through the gearbox, and transmitted to the sprocket. The rotation of the sprocket drives the anchor chain to rise, pulling the anchor up from the bottom of the water; When lowering the anchor, the motor rotates in the opposite direction, the chain wheel rotates in the opposite direction, and the anchor chain is released under the action of gravity, causing the anchor to sink to the bottom of the water. During this process, the clutch and brake can control the rotation and stop of the sprocket, while the warping head can be used for mooring.
