Diesel Anchor Windlass
A diesel anchor windlass is a mechanical device used on boats and ships to raise and lower the anchor. It is powered by a diesel engine rather than a hydraulic motor or an electric motor. Powered by a diesel engine, it drives the gypsy to rotate, achieving the retraction of the anchor chain and controlling the lifting and lowering of the ship's anchor. The diesel anchor windlass is commonly used on medium and large vessels. The anchor machine shall be able to work continuously for 30min under rated pulling force and rated speed, and shall be able to work continuously for 2min under overload pulling force of not less than 1.5 times rated pulling force.
1. Driven by the diesel engine
2. Compact structure with high strength
3. Large torque and good stability
4. Manually operated barke & cluth
5. Corrosion-resistance, high quality
Overview
A diesel anchor windlass is a robust and efficient solution for anchoring large vessels, providing the necessary power and reliability to handle demanding marine operations. The diesel anchor windlass consists of a diesel engine, reduction gearbox, sprocket, brake and clutch.
Power system: The core power source is the diesel engine, which provides powerful power for the operation of the anchor windlass, ensuring effective anchoring and breaking down under various working conditions. Its characteristics are high power, sufficient torque, and the ability to adapt to various complex marine conditions.
Gypsy assembly: Contains one or more chainwheels for winding and releasing anchor chains. Winches are usually made of high-strength metal, with a specially treated surface that has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance to resist the friction and erosion of seawater and anchor chains.
Braking and clutch device: equipped with a reliable braking system, such as disc brakes or belt brakes, used to quickly fix the winch when the anchor machine stops working, preventing the anchor chain from slipping. At the same time, there is a clutch that can separate and combine the chain wheel with the power system, allowing for manual control of the anchor chain when needed.
Transmission system: connects the diesel engine and gypsy, generally consisting of a reduction gearbox, transmission shaft, coupling, etc. The reduction gearbox can convert the high-speed rotation of the diesel engine into the low-speed high torque output required by the gypsy, ensuring that the anchor machine can smoothly and effectively retract the anchor chain.
