Deck Floor Drain
Overview
Ship drainage process
When the ship begins to take on water, the process of removing water through the drain is as follows:
In the first step, when the drain valve is closed, the water inside the ship begins to accumulate and collect to a certain extent through the drain. Before the water is collected at the drain, it forms a pool or tank inside the ship.
In the second step, when the water in the pool or tank reaches a certain height, the ship's staff or automatic control system will open the drainage valve. This allows the water in the pool to flow out through the drain.
The third step, through the opening of the drain valve, the water will flow through the pipe and into the external environment near the drain. At this point, gravity will come into play, allowing the water to be discharged in free fall through the drain.
In the fourth step, after the water flows out through the drain, the staff on board or the automatic control system will close the drain valve to prevent the water from the external environment from entering the ship.
