What is the stuffing box of separated bulk for the ship's axis?

1. A sealing device is installed at the bulkhead where the shaft system passes to ensure water tightness.

2. A sealing device installed at the partition wall where the shaft system passes through, to ensure water tightness under the condition of rotation of the shaft system. Also known as a bulkhead stuffing box.

Overview

There are three main types of the stuffing box of separated bulk for the ship's axis: Type A, B type and type C.

Remarks: Type A is suggested for vessels whose bulkhead space is large.

When the bulkhead space is small or there is design requirement, type B and type C can be chosen.
