Structure and type of marine water lubrication stern shaft sealing apparatus
Marine water lubrication stern shaft sealing apparatus is suitable for various types of ships using water as the working medium.
It is mainly composed of tire, water seal carriers, airtight seal carriers, and drive grip rings.
Water sealing devices are divided into four types: rubber ring type, packing type, spring plate type, and column spring type.
Overview
Terms and definitions:
Tire: a rubber component that uses compressed air to expand and prevent seawater from entering axially while the propeller shaft is stationary.
Water seal carrier: a component used to place and position sealing rings.
Airtight seal carrier: a component used to clamp and position tires.
Drive grip ring: a split type component that is fixed on the ship shaft and rotates together with the ship shaft due to its clamping force generating friction with the shaft.
Axis bushing: a sleeve that prevents corrosion and wear on the stern shaft.
