Spherical Head
Spherical heads are usually made of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and other materials.
The applicable media of spherical head are gas, liquid and steam.
Spherical head is well forged, with smooth surface, acid and alkali resistance, high temperature resistance, beautiful appearance and strong texture performance.
Spherical head has two types: hemispherical head and unfolded spherical head.
Overview
Introduction:
Spherical head is a kind of head made of hemispherical surface arcs spliced together, which is usually used in the head portion of a vessel or pipeline, and can effectively protect the pressure and temperature in the piping system. The main function of a spherical head is to withstand the pressure and temperature in a piping system and to transmit these forces to other parts of the piping system.
Spherical heads are usually available in different diameters, thicknesses and curvatures to suit different piping systems.
Simple spherical head is made of two concentric hemispherical surface arcs spliced together and is suitable for low pressure and low temperature.
Flat spherical head is made on the basis of simple spherical head by flattening the arc through hot working process, commonly used for light container.
Spherical missing head is made of a spherical surface and a section of conical surface spliced together, suitable for high pressure and high temperature.
Arched spherical head is made of two curved surfaces with different curvatures, which is suitable for large-sized vessels with complicated loads.
Spherical head is usually processed by molding or shearing method, and the material of the mold can be carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and so on. In addition, the manufacture of spherical head requires various technical means such as hot working, cold working and welding.
