Describe:
Recessed bollard is generally used by ships in the Panama Canal and Suez Canal. Recessed bollard is used where the rope needs to be fixed to the hull without any protruding parts. Recessed bollard plays a key role in container mooring and towing arrangements.
Materials:
Type 75 and Type 100: Weldable steel castings with a yield point of not less than 235N/mm2.
Type 110 and Type 150: Weldable steel castings with a yield point of not less than 350N/mm2.
Type 135 and Type 180: Weldable steel castings with a yield point of not less than 430N/mm2.
Manufacturing and Inspection:
All surfaces of the recessed bollard, including welds, shall be free from any visible flaws or defects. All surfaces in contact with the rope shall be free from surface roughness or irregularities that may cause abrasion of the rope. The outside of the recessed bollard shall be coated with an anti-corrosion coating. The recessed bollard shall be clearly marked with its safe load capacity by means of a weld or the like. The safe load capacity shall be expressed in tons (the letter "t") and shall be placed in a position where it will not be obscured during the operation of the fitting. For example: SWL XXX t.
