Radar Transponder
Radar transponder(SART) is the main component of the GMDSS. This is an active device transmitting signal to other ships. By means of signal from SART other vessels can locate ship in distress. SART attracts the attention of passing vessels by indicating the location of the ship in distress on their radar screen.
