Power Transformer
Power transformers change the voltage and current of electrical signals and can be used as step-down transformers or step-up transformers to increase and decrease the voltage and current levels of electrical signals as needed. The power and frequency of the electrical signals on both sides of the power transformer remain unchanged, that is, the same power is transferred between circuits operating at different voltage and current levels.
