Point Line Contacted Steel Wire Rope
Point-line contact wire rope refers to a steel wire rope composed of one or more strands, where, under load, the contact between the wires of the rope and the connecting parts such as the rope head or hook is in the form of points or lines, rather than the entire cross-section being uniformly stressed. This contact form can effectively reduce the wear of the rope at the contact points, thereby improving the service life of the rope.
Overview
Compared to point contact wire rope, point-line contact wire rope is relatively more uniform and smooth in contact form and stress mode, while point contact wire rope is more concentrated, exerting greater pressure on the connecting parts, which can lead to wear and damage.
Compared to line contact steel wire rope, point-line contact steel wire rope undergoes a certain degree of bending deformation when subjected to force. Line contact steel wire rope, on the other hand, undergoes a smoother and more uniform distribution of stress.
