MGPS for Strainer

With the ship's navigation work, the ship's seawater system will be subject to the marine attached organisms of the body of the degree of corrosion and pollution, and due to the sea organisms clogging the seawater into the mouth, the filter, the cooler and so on, thus leading to seawater pipeline diameter becomes smaller, affecting the flow of seawater and reduce the rate of thermal delivery, affecting the cost and waste of resources, as well as affecting the normal operation of the relevant equipment.

In recent years, with the awareness of this danger, the Marine Seawater Filter with MGPS has been widely used in many new ships.

Overview

Principle

The seawater strainer/filter with MGPS to prevent marine life is based on the principle of electrolysis of seawater, introducing seawater into the MGPS at the outlet of the seawater pump, the MGPS electrolyse the seawater to produce chlorine and hypochlorite, and then injected into the seafloor gate, the sodium hypochlorite will be generated by the action of the seabed organisms, which will make the seabed organisms die. The chlorine level of 0.05 PPM is sufficient to prevent the growth of marine organisms, but too high a level may cause corrosion of equipment and pollution of the sea.

Advantages

This electrolytic copper/aluminium electrode is mounted on the seawater filter of the seawater line and is a simple, easy to install and low cost device.

No special management is required, there are no by-products, and the electrodes only need to be replaced periodically.

In addition, this device consumes very little electricity and has an anti-corrosion effect. It is effective against shellfish organisms.
