Marine Turnbuckle

Marine Turnbuckle

Turnbuckle is a type of tension device. It is applied to connect a lashing rod to a flashing plate or D-ring. When in use, its tightening puts tension into a lashing rod. Turnbuckles usually require an additional rod or tool to turn the barrel or body of the turnbuckle as it is tightened or loosened. It is important that it also be fitted with a locking mechanism to reduce the likelihood that lashing assemblies will slacken in a seaway due to the cyclical loading and unloading associated with the vessel’s motions.
