Overview
Applications:
1. Ballast Tanks: Monitoring the level of water in ballast tanks to ensure stability and balance of the vessel.
2. Fuel Tanks: Measuring fuel levels to prevent running out or overfilling, which could lead to spills or accidents.
3. Water Tanks: Tracking potable and non-potable water levels for various operational needs on a ship.
4. Cargo Tanks: Ensuring accurate measurement of liquid cargo, such as oil, chemicals, or other fluids being transported.
Installation and Maintenance:
Installation: Typically involves mounting the gauge to a flange or threaded connection on the side of the tank. Proper sealing and alignment are crucial to prevent leaks and ensure accurate readings.
Maintenance: Regular inspection and cleaning of the sight glass or indicator mechanism are necessary to maintain accuracy. Periodic calibration may also be required, especially in demanding environments.
