Marine Rudder System
The marine rudder system includes upper rudder carrier, lower rudder carrier, rudder stock, and rudder blade. The rudder equipment is the main equipment to control the ship, its role is to make the ship to maintain the required course, change the original course or carry out rotation movement.
The rudder bearing is the supporting point of the rudder pole on the hull. It can be generally divided into upper and lower rudder carrier. Among them, the lower rudder bearing is to ensure that the rudder stock rotates according to it. The upper rudder bears the weight of the rudder rod and rudder blade. The force on the rudder bearing can be calculated according to the water pressure and the area of the rudder rod and rudder blade.
Overview
According to the principle of operating and turning the rudder, the rudder should be away from the turning center of the ship. Therefore, the rudder is usually placed in the stern to withstand the action of the current, in order to generate a large moment of turning ship.
The rudder system installation is an important part of ship construction, the quality of rudder system installation directly affects the ship handling performance.
Types of Marine Rudder
