Marine Hydraulic Azimuth Thruster

Marine Hydraulic Azimuth Thruster

The marine hydraulic azimuth thruster uses hydraulic source as driving power, and directly drives the propellers by hydraulic motor. They have the advantages of compact structure, convenient install and maintain, lower use cost, shorter production period and others. It is also named the rudder propeller. The power range of the products is from 50HP to 500HP. They are used in yachts, open body mud barges, engineering ships of simple type and others. It has transom installation, well installation and deck installation.

Feature:

Compact structure

Low noise

Space efficiency

Operational flexibility

Overview

The marine hydraulic azimuth thruster is powered by a hydraulic system, which uses hydraulic fluid to transmit power, known for its high power density, smooth control, and reliability. The marine azimuth thruster is a new type of Z-push device, which integrates the good maneuverability of Z-push device with the high propulsion efficiency of counter-rotating propeller. It has the characteristics of high efficiency, low vibration and good maneuverability, and is an ideal propeller for modern ships requiring high maneuverability. If the power equipment of the steering and turning device of the Z-type propulsion unit is electric or electro-hydraulic, backup power equipment or other emergency control measures can be provided.

The azimuth thruster features its ability to rotate the propeller in any direction. This is a key advantage for vessels that require precise maneuverability, such as tug boats, offshore support vessels and ferries. Azimuth thruster technology enables vessels to maintain their position in a dynamic positioning (DP) mode, allowing them to carry out complex operations such as drilling, or unloading close to offshore rigs or diving operations.
