Marine Bulb Rudder
Marine bulb rudder is provided with a flow guide cover in the middle of the rudder blade at the axis of the propeller, and the bulb rudder has a rectifying effect. The shape of the flow guide cover is a rotating body composed of a streamlined profile, and its size needs to be matched with the propeller hub. This can improve the turbulence state of the propeller discharge flow, so as to improve the thrust of the propeller and improve the vibration of the stern. This can improve the flow condition behind the propeller, thus improving the propulsion efficiency.
Overview
In order to improve the propulsion efficiency of ships, rectifier caps are installed on the continuous part of the propeller axis on the rudder of some single-propeller ships. Its shape is a rotary body of symmetrical wing profile or approximate ellipsoid, and it is also made into a wide and relatively flat type. The rectifier cap fills the space usually in the low pressure area of the vortex, so the wake in the propeller blade area is improved, which not only improves the thrust and efficiency of the propeller, eliminates the corrosion phenomenon behind the propeller cap, but also improves the vibration of the stern.
