Marine Ball Valve

Marine Ball Valve

As one of the important valves on ships, marine ball valves have many functions such as preventing leakage, controlling flow, regulating pressure, etc., which play a vital role in ensuring the safe navigation of ships. Marine ball valves can be supplied in stainless steel, bronze and other corrosion-resistant materials to ensure its service life in the harsh marine environment. Marine flange ball valves are widely used in various systems of ships, such as cooling water system, fuel oil system, lubricating oil system and so on.

Overview

Introduction:

The ball valve is evolved from the plug valve. It is specifically the same rotation 90 degrees to mention the action, the difference is that the plug body is a sphere, with a circular through hole or channel its axis. The proportion of the sphere and the passage port should be such that when the ball rotates 90 degrees, in the inlet and outlet should all present a spherical surface, so as to cut off the flow. The ball valve can be closed tightly only with the operation of rotating 90 degrees and a small turning torque. Completely equal valve body cavity for the medium to provide a very small resistance, straight through the flow path. Ball valves are generally considered to be best suited for direct opening and closing, but recent developments have designed ball valves so that they can be used for throttling and flow control.

Application:

Cooling water systems are one of the most common applications on ships. When the ship is running, the engine needs a large amount of cooling water to lower the temperature to maintain normal operation. As a key device in the cooling water system, marine ball valves can control the flow and temperature of cooling water to ensure the normal operation of the engine.
