Manual Marine Fire Dampers control switch troubleshooting methods

A fire damper is a device mounted on a ventilation duct that limits the spread of fire by keeping airflow into the duct under normal conditions and preventing airflow during a fire. Fire dampers are categorized as single or multi-leaf. It is basically jammed whenever any shaft or any joint position is jammed. Therefore, we should always refuel and maintain it.

Overview

The reason why the fire damper control switch does not respond:

Power supply problems: if the power line is disconnected or the power supply is short-circuited, the current cannot be transmitted to the control switch, and the switch will naturally not respond.

Control internal failure: Because of long usage time, the parts inside the control switch may be damaged or aged, resulting in the control switch not working properly.

Maintenance problems: If the control switch was previously serviced, the original circuit was disassembled or changed, resulting in the switch not working properly.

Other reasons: There are some other reasons, such as water ingress and excessive dust in the control switch, which may cause the problem of the control switch not responding.

Troubleshooting methods:

1. check the power supply problem: first of all, check whether the power line is connected, whether the power plug is plugged in, and check whether the power supply is normal with a multimeter.

2. Examine the fault of the control switch of the fire damper itself: if the power supply is normal, but the switch is still unresponsive, it may be the fault of the control switch itself. At this time, you need to check whether the internal parts of the switch is damaged or aging, and whether there is a short circuit, etc. Check the maintenance problem: If the control switch is not responding, it may be the control switch itself.

3. Check for maintenance problems: If the control switch has been repaired before, we need to check whether there are any problems such as disassembling or changing the circuit during the repair process, and then carry out troubleshooting.

4. Cleaning the control switch: Frequently used control switches are particularly susceptible to dust and water ingress. If too much dust or water accumulates inside the control switch, the switch will not work properly. Try cleaning the control switch at this time.

5. Replace the control switch: If none of the above solutions solve the problem, then the control switch may be severely deteriorated and need to be replaced with a new one.
