Overview
Manganese aluminum bronze (Cu4) is also a commonly used alloy for manufacturing marine propellers. Similar to nickel aluminum bronze, manganese aluminum bronze is widely used due to its superior physical and chemical properties. This alloy is mainly composed of copper, manganese, and aluminum, as well as other elements such as iron and nickel.
Alloy composition:
Cu: Basic component, usually accounting for 70-80% of the total alloy content.
Mn: increases strength and corrosion resistance, usually accounting for 8-20% of the total amount.
Al: Increases hardness and strength, typically accounting for 6.5-9% of the total.
Fe: 2-5% of the total alloy content
Ni: A small amount of additive component, accounting for 1.5-3% of the total alloy, further improves the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the alloy.
Zn: ≤6%
Sn: ≤1%
Pb:≤0.05%
Aluminum bronze (Cu4) is an ideal material for manufacturing marine propellers due to its corrosion resistance, high strength, good fatigue resistance, and wear resistance, ensuring safe and efficient operation of ships in various harsh marine environments.
Main features and advantages:
Corrosion resistance: Manganese aluminum bronze exhibits good corrosion resistance in seawater and other corrosive environments, making it suitable for the manufacturing of marine propellers.
High strength and hardness: Manganese aluminum bronze has high strength and hardness, allowing propellers to withstand high loads and stresses during ship operation.
Good anti fatigue performance: This alloy has good anti fatigue performance and can maintain stable performance during long-term operation, reducing the maintenance and replacement frequency of propellers.
Wear resistance: The wear resistance of manganese aluminum bronze enables the propeller to maintain good working condition even after long-term use.
Good castability and machinability: This alloy is easy to cast and process, capable of producing propellers with complex shapes while maintaining high precision and quality.
