Hydraulic Single Gypsy Anchor Windlass

Hydraulic Single Gypsy Anchor Windlass

A hydraulic single gypsy anchor windlass is a device  used for ship anchoring and mooring. It utilizes hydraulic power to operate, making it efficient and effective for handling heavy anchors and chains. It consists of the single chain wheel/gypsy/sprocket, hydraulic motor, gearbox, control system, clutch and brake system, etc. It can be equipped with drum and warping head as your needs.

1. Powerful Performance, efficiency

2. Designed to withstand harsh marine environments

3. Made from corrosion-resistant materials

4. Overload protection, emergency stop functions

5. Local control or remote control

Overview

The hydraulic single gypsy anchor windlass relies on a hydraulic system to provide power, converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy through a hydraulic pump, and then converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy through a hydraulic motor to drive the anchor chain wheel to rotate. The teeth on the anchor chain wheel mesh with the anchor chain, and under the drive of the hydraulic motor, the anchor chain wheel rotates to achieve the retraction and release of the anchor chain, thus achieving the purpose of anchoring and releasing.

Key components

Gypsy (or Chain Wheel): This is the primary component that grips the anchor chain. The gypsy is designed to fit the specific chain size and can be shaped to accommodate different types of anchors.

Hydraulic motor: This motor powers the windlass. It converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy to turn the gypsy, allowing the anchor to be raised or lowered.

Control System: The hydraulic windlass is typically equipped with a control system that allows the operator to control the raising and lowering of the anchor from the master controller or a remote location.

Gearbox: used to transmit the power of hydraulic motors to anchor chain wheels and achieve the conversion of speed and torque. The internal gears are hardened to meet the requirements of the working load.

Brake device: Generally a manual or hydraulically operated brake, it is used to control the movement of the chain chain during the anchor lifting or anchoring process, prevent the chain chain from slipping out of control, and ensure operation safety. The brake is usually easy to adjust.

Hydraulic Reservoir and Pump: This system stores hydraulic fluid and provides the necessary pressure to operate the hydraulic motor.
