Materials:

Ductile Iron: Combines the strength of steel with the casting capabilities of iron.
Concrete: Often used for large, stationary bollards in high-traffic ports.
Usage:
Mooring Lines: Ships use bollards to secure mooring lines, which are looped around the bollard and tightened to hold the vessel in place.
