Differences between exit light and low location light
Both exit light and low location light are applied to stairs, walkway and safety alleyway for illumination and indication at cabins on a ship, but there are some differences between them in structure, installation and function.
Overview
Exit lights are usually green, with the word “Exit” and pattern, and the pattern can be customized. Exit lights are installed near exit door for reminding sailors or passengers of where is exit in emergency. Exit light are also installed in a low location on the wall of stairs and walkways to indicate the direction of exit. The installation types of exit lights are various, including hanging type, recessed mounted type, and wall-mounted type, etc.
Low location light are red or milky white, some have the word “Exit” and the others not. The structure and appearance is more concise than exit light. Adopted wall-mounted type, they are installed in a low location on the wall of walkway and stairs for illumination the aisle and escape route in emergency.
