CGY-165 Marine Projection Compass

CGY-165 Marine Projection Compass

Type CGY-165 projection magnetic compass is specially suitable for various kinds of large and medium merchant ships and naval service vessels to indicate the heading and determine the azimuth. With the help of an excellent optical projection system, the operator can easily and precisely observe the ship’s heading in wheelhouse. The compass can be conveniently mounted on the compass desk(the top of the wheelhouse). The optical cylinder within the binnacle can stretch into the wheelhouse through the base of binnacle. Partial image of the car of compass bowl can be displayed on the plane mirror at the end of the optical cylinder.

Overview

Adopted standard: the compass is designed to meet the technical requirements of GB/T14108-93 and ISO449 standards referring Class A magnetic compass.

Adopted authentication: approved by CCS.

Characteristics:

It can be used as a standard compass or steering magnetic compass in the meantime, easily installed in steering room with limited area, corrected in a steel iron room without any difficulties.

Optical cylinder can be adjusted up-down and turned left-right, making the image of the card scale horizontally viewed for pilot to view the heading.

On the glass of the compass bowl is mounted a location block on which can be mounted various sensors for interfacing with a autopilot.

The intensity of light can be controlled in the wheel house, which makes image of the card scale clear in day or night.

Installation

(1) The CGY 165 Projection Magnetic Compass must be installed tightly on the compass deck (top of the wheel house), and guarantee water tight when the optical cylinder of binnacle stand is sent through the deck. It should be not allowable for any water to leak into the wheel house.

(2) When installing, please refer to the enclosed drawing of instruction.

(3) The method for installation can be decided by shipyard according to actual circumstance.

(4) There are three kinds of different projecting cylinders, their length is 455mm, 700mm and 1000mm which may be chosen by customers according to the height of the wheel house. The special length is available at request.

Notice items when installing

(1)It is important that its lubber's line is exactly in line with the keel line of the ship.

(2)For the accurate performance of this compass, it is necessary that its bowl be installed away from any magnetic bodies, such as steel-iron constructor, DC motor and wiring, etc.

(3)The magnetic compass installed on ship must be constantly corrected for deviation and the exact correcting records, such as time, place and residual deviation must be kept well for further reference.
