A0 Fire Damper

A0 Fire Damper

A0 fire damper, class A fireproof, burning 0 minutes, temperature rise does not exceed 130 degrees, is an air lock that is not fire resistant and is only used to isolate partitions. The main function of this type of damper is to stop the spread of smoke and flame and to keep the rest of the ship safe.

Overview

Fire testing of ships follows SOLAS regulations to ensure that special attention is paid to the fire resistance of their materials in the event of a fire where escape is not easy. It also provides for heat-resistant and structural separation and structural integrity of ships, and specifies the requirements for fire-resistant separations of different classes in order to realize the purpose of structural fire protection of ships.

Type:

Class “A” separations are separations consisting of bulkheads and decks meeting certain criteria, which have a very high degree of fire resistance and are capable of maintaining their structural integrity in a standard fire resistance test.

Class “B” compartments are compartments consisting of bulkheads, decks, ceilings or liners that meet certain criteria to prevent the passage of flame in a standard fire resistance test and have a specific insulation value to limit the temperature rise on the backfire side.

Class “C” compartments are the lowest fire rating and refer to compartments made of recognized non-combustible materials that are not required to meet the requirements of preventing the passage of smoke and flame and limiting temperature rise.
